New Market - Thomas Yelverton Hall, 93, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his home near here. He had been in failing health two years and bedfast 8 days. Mr. Hall was born Aug 12, 1866 in a log house on the farm where he died. He was the son of Yelverton Peyton and Martha Ellen Hall who were Montgomery County pioneers. He was the last survivor of his family. He was married 1 Jan 1899 to Flavia Belle Doyel. Mr. Hall was graduated from Wabash College in 1906. However, he entered Wabash with the class of 1892 and taught school several years before receiving his AB degree. He taught school in Montgomery County 30 years many of which were in the capacity of high school principal. In addition to his teaching, he farmed. He retired from active work about 20 years ago. Mr. Hall was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge of New Market the past 68 years. Survivors include the wife, three sons, Herman Hazlitt Hall of New Market; Lowell Doyel Hall at Lake Bluff, Ill and Dr. Yelverton Burdette Hall of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald L. Reddish of Lebanon and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary D; Sarah Jane; Elizabeth; Mrs. Joseph L. Davis and Maude Estella and three brothers, William Hall, Dr. Stephen Hall and Dr. George W. Hall. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home here. Interment in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. - kbz
